Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A
Xiaomi has recently rolled out three flagship Mi 8 phones, and is currently proceeding to bring out the lower–end models – Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A.
The 5.45-inch HD+ (720 x 1440) IPS display on the Xiaomi Redmi 6 model has a convenient contemporary 18:9 aspect ratio. Behind the pixels are the power of a 3,000 mAh battery and the 2GHz octa-core CPU 12nm MediaTek Helio P22 chip. Its capacity has become slightly lower than that of the Redmi 5’s 3,300mAh pack, it should still last significantly longer if we take into account the fact that it has a far more efficient chipset and the smaller screen.
There will be two memory configurations available for the new model – one is 3GB RAM with 32GB of flash storage, the other - 4GB + 64GB. In either case, a a microSD card slot is included for all your storage needs.
There are dual back cameras (12MP + 5MP) on the phone along with a front 5MP selfie camera.
AI-aided face unlock is the Xiaomi Redmi 6's unique feature. Any time a person takes a phone into his or her hands, the lit-up screen scans their face, and makes the entire process of unlocking the phone a lot quicker and user-friendly. There is also a fingerprint unlock option, for those who prefer that, since the Redmi 6 has a fingerprint reader on on its back.
AI is, in fact a major part of the MIUI 10 software package, which is behind the performance of Redmi 6, which is perfectly capable of assisting with video and camera stills and other functions.
The less expensive Xiaomi Redmi 6A also comes in the very same body, but the hardware that fills it up is slightly less powerful.
The 4-CPU core Helio A22 chipset is responsible for performance, and utilizes the highly efficient 12nm process, just as the Helio P22. It has the same 2.0 Ghz power, and is coupled with 16GB of expandable memory and 2GB of RAM.
Additionally, the Redmi 6A has a 13MP-sensor with an LED flash, while the same sensor on the front only sports 5 MP. The standard AI camera and software options are all available, since the MIUI 10 pack offers the very same capabilities.
An identical display is at hand powered by a Helio A22 chipset, which is built on the same efficient 12nm process as the Helio P22, but with four CPU cores instead of eight. It's still clocked at 2.0GHz, but it's paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
There is no fingerprint sensor in this model, so the exclusive biometric security option is that of the face unlock.
The prices for the newbies is as follows: Redmi 6 standard 3GB/32GB is going for CNY 799 ($125), while the more impressive 4GB/64GB version is CNY 999 ($155). The price for the Redmi 6A is merely an affordable CNY 599 ($95). June 15 is the day that these phones will become available in China, but there are no clear timeframes for when they’ll go on sale in other markets.
