A new junior smartphone with 4G function introduced by Xiaomi under the name of Mi Bunny Watch 3.The first Mi Bunny smartphones were introduced by this Chinese major player in 2016. The first-generation of the devices were mostly used as GPS trackers, and only later the firm made a strategic decision to launch a full-scale children’s smartwatch. The one coming out now is an improvement on the Mi Bunny Phone Watch 2C, which was introduced in early 2018.
The device, with merely 51 grams to it, offers a variety of connection possibilities, such as LTE, Wi-Fi, 4G, BeiDou and A-GPS. The display is a 1.41”AMOLED and sports 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The resolution equals 320x360 px.
The wearable has a great range of functions. A great new feature is the availability of a phone call option. Dual 4G support entails the sending of voice messaging and calling at the same time.
Another wonderful function for kids is the 2MP HD camera. The smartphone app that goes with it helps identify plants, so that their little owners learn about nature. There are other functions as well. Children may shoot photo and video like adults, with resolution set to Full HD. For the parents the gizmo offers a chance to track GPS coordinates and access the camera to make sure their children are safe.
There’s also a feature that allows to track physical activity, along with an alarm clock, fun games and riddles. The device allows to play music and has a voice assistant option.
The battery life could have been more inspiring, but it lasts only about 30 hours. The smartwatch, however, is supposed to provide as many as 11 hours of standby time after it’s recharged for just 10 minutes.
The IPX7-compatible device can also withstand sweating, rain, or even shallow waters. The dimensions are 43mm (side) and 15 mm (thickness)
Similar children’s devices are not entirely new to the market. Xiaomi’s is distinguished by cuteness… and the low price. Mi Bunny Watch 3 is currently sold in China for CNY599 (approx.. USD90), which is very reasonable considering the range of features. Pink or blue straps are available, and the material used is a very safe hypoallergenic food-grade TPU. There’s no information yet on international availability.
