Will late 2024 bring Apple AR glasses to the market?
A mixed reality (MR) headset – literally a combination of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) is in the works at Apple along with AR glasses that are slated to be revealed in the second half of 2024. They are expected to be highly dependent on the iPhone due to limitations in design. Apple may be starting EVT testing of the MR headset in Q3 2022, and in early 2023, we also expect the MR headset to become available to consumers.
Apple has not provided any information about the AR glasses or AR/VR headset yet, so we are basically acting on common sense, previous reports and industry rumors. One of the analysts says that the upcoming Apple Glasses will be able to serve as an IPhone display.
Even prior to the release of the AR/VR headset, Apple is already (supposedly) planning the second generation of the device, which may be launched in late 2024 along with AR glasses. The headset may be revealed following a special media event in January 2023, and the development toolkit could be delivered 2-4 weeks afterwards. Luxshare is one of the key suppliers for Apple devices coming out between late 2022 and 2024.
