The Redmi Note 8 Pro & Redmi Note 8 are officially here, being the next generation of the budget-friendly Redmi Note 7 series. The Redmi Note 8 is an affordable decent handset whereas the Pro version is officially the world’s 1st smartphone that has a stunning 64-megapixel camera.

This smartphone comes with a powerful Snapdragon 665 chipset, which makes use of the 11nm process. Its SoC contains 8 Kryo 260 cores, with 4 cores clocked at a cool 2.2 GHz, while the other 4 are clocked at a respectable 1.8 GHz.
There are 4 shooters in the Redmi Note 8’s camera setup. The primary camera has 48 megapixels and comes with the Samsung ISOCELL GM2 sensor. Its going rate starts at CNY999 (€125/$140) for the 4GB/64GB option. 2 other variants are available as well – the 6GB/64GB at CNY1199 (€150/$167) and the 6GB/128GB at CNY1399 (€175/$195).

Although other firms attempted to downplay this smartphone, the Redmi Note 8 Pro happens to be the 1st official phone that has a 64-megapixel camera. It comes with the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor and provides quad-binning pixel tech.
The phone’s display is around 6.53” when taken diagonally, with a Full HD+ LCD panel. It’s got small bezels and its bottom bezel happens to be 4.2mm thick.
You will be able to see the difference between the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 pro for yourself – It’s got a 4-cam vertical setup, right in its panel’s center. Its 64-megapixel primary shooter is also accompanied by a 2MP macro combo, a 2MP depth, and an 8MP ultra-wide as seen in the Redmi Note 8.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is equipped with the Helio G90T from Mediatek and is the 1st smartphone that uses this enhanced SoC platform. The phone comes in 6GB/64GB & 8GB/128GB variants as well. It has quick charging features at 18W, and has a battery capacity of around 4500 mAh.
This smartphone is among the first from this sub-brand that has been equipped with a powerful cooling chamber (liquid) for offsetting expected heating issues from this gaming chipset. It also provides an option to connect to both 4G and Wi-Fi simultaneously, for providing a seamless gaming experience.
Available in White, Green, and Black, this smartphone will be available in September. Its price starts at CNY1399 (€175/$195) for its 6GB/64GB variant. Its most expensive 8GB/128GB variant is available at CNY1799 (€225/250).
