Redmi Note 9 will have an online launch after the event was canceled due to coronavirus
Individuals and companies are now experiencing significant challenges in their daily activities due to coronavirus outbreak. Today, Kuma Jain, the Managing Director of Xiaomi India, announced that the Redmi launch event that was planned to be carried out on March 12 is canceled. Instead, the company will conduct the launch through its online platform claiming it will be genuinely “Note-worthy.”
The company’s social media handles and mi.com website will provide a live stream of the event. Jain revealed that despite planning the event for several months, the decision to carry out an online-launch is to avoid exposing Mi fans, media representations, and Xiaomi employees to the risk of Covid-19. The company will provide future updates regarding other events concerning incoming phones.
Redmi could be the first company in the world to cancel such an event in India due to coronavirus. Although we contacted Realme, Redmi competitor, regarding the March 5 launch of Realme 6 lineup, there is nothing to report yet. However, the company stated that there are significant numbers of journalists who are canceling their trip to the event.
