Quarter of all iPhones may be manufactured in India by 2025

Apple is seeking to decrease its critical dependency on China in manufacturing its products. The growing geopolitical strains and the problems with the supply chains due to coronavirus lockdowns are the two main reasons. In fact, Apple seems to have already arranged a transfer of a significant part of its iPhone manufacturing (25%) to India by 2025. By late 2022, as much as 5% of iPhone 14s may be produced in India: the first batch will be ready in late October or early November. Production of other Apple products may also be shifting out of China.
Apple began its foray into India in 207 with iPhone SE and iPhone 12 by collaborating with Wistron. Currently, Foxconn is assembling iPhone 13 units in India.
