Meizu acquires a patent for an in-display fingerprint reader

A quick look at the State Intellectual Property Office of China shows that Meizu has joined the rush as well. This news was confirmed by a spokesperson of the company. As revealed in the initial description, this Chinese OEM plans to include the functionality into its on-display Super mBack button, thereby increasing its flexibility.
Besides the well-known navigation gesture feature set, it will now transform into a fingerprint icon that will guide users where to put their finger for verifying payments or unlocking the phone. Unfortunately, the new feature will not be included on the soon-to-be-released Meizu 15 trio of phones.
This is, however, not surprising as we have already seen them in real life and, thanks to TENAA, pretty much already know what their specs will be. Even the top of the line Meizu 15 Plus will feature a standard physical home button under its 5.95 inch, AMOLED display, while the other two models having the same design.
