Galaxy Fold, the long-anticipated folding phone, is unveiled by Samsung, along with its shocking price tag
From a 4.6” phone into something more like a tablet with a 7.3” screen after being unfolded along the long edge – let’s welcome the Galaxy Fold!
The Fold, which was revealed together with the 3-size Galaxy S10 line of products, will have an impressive price tag of $1,980 at time of projected release on April 26.
The new foldable-screen Samsung device is a great way to introduce a truly novel feature among all the insignificant details that many other companies have been attempting to use to attract consumers.
For the currently unsurpassed price the Galaxy Fold will provide the customers with an unfolding device that can transform from a conventional 4.6” smartphone to practically a mini-tablet with a remarkable 7.3” screen.
Three different apps will be capable of running on the screen at the same time when the phone is fully unfolded.
DJ Koh, head of Samsung’s smartphone department who announced the Galaxy Fold, stated that this was the dawn of a new era, and demonstrates that there’s still room for major innovations in the sphere, unlike what many cynics claimed.
Samsung hopes that Galaxy Fold will stimulate more consumers to upgrade to new models, turning the recent market drop around, and reversing the 8% fall of 2018. Some skeptical experts still believe that devices like the recently unveiled folding Samsung device are not likely to sell beyond a narrow niche market and will not affect the general picture.
