Published : Wednesday, 02 May, 2018
Only 33 million units were sold in Q1 2018. This goes to show that people are less interested in tablets nowadays. They want something that still offers portability and they really want to focus on better value for the money. The fall is around 28.2%, which is most certainly a significant number. The lack of stimulation from other manufacturers and the clients that adjusted their inventory did end up bringing in quite a lot of interesting dynamics on the market, which is quite impressive in its own right. As far as the size is concerned, the smaller 7” and 8” models are losing popularity, with an 8% decline demonstrated in this sector.Apple is coming out with a new iPad, but other companies didn’t really focus on bring in something very new to the table. The larger tablets are very popular, whereas the smaller tablets decline in sales. Huawei and Samsung are boosting the productions. Apple is also expected to go up in Q2, since they are coming up with a new device. But many of the other manufacturers know that they don’t have too much of a market to compete here, as the sales are forecasted at around 31 million units in total, which constitutes a drop of over 6%.
