Apple upcoming lineup to boost sales and attract consumers

2018 turned out to be not quite a dream year for Apple as far as sales are concerned, however, the firm is about to reveal several new models at once, in a move that’s uncharacteristic of its previous strategy.Industry experts agree that Apple is not deeply worried about the overall demand in the current and the next year. Even though there’s concern about the upcoming models to be released in Q3 2018, the demand is slated to be high.
The possibly bigger models to be revealed in 2019 are likely to be popular, since the demand for innovation and new devices in general is determined by the lack of significant upgrades in the recent years.
As many as 91 million units of the three new models to be launched in the latter half of 2018, will be manufactured, according to experts. Moreover, the first half of 2019 will see 92 more million devices on the market. Meanwhile, iPhone X is likely to be discontinued later this year, to be followed by the more affordable iPhone SE.
The number of phones to be made in Q1 and Q2 of 2018 significantly exceeds that manufactured in a typical period of this length.
Supposedly, among these three forthcoming models there will be one LCD-based model (provisionally called iPhone 9), and two OLED-based devices (iPhone 11 & 11 Plus). In fact, this information coincides with the rumors that have been circulating online.
For Q3, it is estimated that 28 million units of the three above-mentioned new devices will be made, which is higher than a previous prediction of 24 million. An incredible 63 million units will come in Q4, 46 million in Q1 and 46 million more in Q2 2019. All the estimates are up from previous numbers.
Actual shipments of iPhone 9, 11 and 11 Plus in these 4 quarters are expected to amount to 20 million, 60 million, 45 million and 40 million, respectively.
Once again, experts cite the lack of smartphone upgrades and innovation as the general reason for slow sales in 2017 and former half of 2018, which should be alleviated when new models are introduced.
Expectations for the new iPhones are high, and there’s bound to be a high demand for the new models, compensating for the setbacks in the last two cycles. These new device models should keep the customers happy, offering a fairly comprehensive range of options. iPhone 9 is the more affordable option, while iPhone 11 Plus is a good choice for those who had size issues with iPhone X. Let’s see how it all works out in reality, but for now fall looks like a very exciting time for both Apple and its fans.
